Hello Members!
We are on the road to our 2020 V.I.S.I.O.N. I wanted to take the opportunity to describe our 2020 V.I.S.I.O.N. to you in more detail.
Our 2020 V.I.S.I.O.N. describes our desired outcomes for all of our stakeholders, our goal to elevate the chapter to the level to match our size and tremendous impact, and to develop solutions that elevate the service of construction management in our industry.
-
Visibility - As stated above, our membership is some 1200 strong as of November 2019. Within that group, we have members that work for Owner organizations, some of our largest service providers and small business as well. Our membership includes general contractors, practitioners who have been in the industry for years and folks that are brand new. We want to increase our visibility to make sure that everyone involved in this industry knows who we are, what the Certified Construction Manager designation means and that everyone associates successful outcomes with our certification and brand.
-
Inclusion - the National Capital Chapter is in full alignment with the CMAA national’s strategic objectives including Diversity. We know that Diversity makes sense- Our clients and the end users of the facilities we help build reflect the beautiful diversity of America. In order to be successful, we will need to do the same. We are establishing an active Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and we will partner with diverse organizations, encourage their participation and support and learn from them.
-
Solutions - The primary mission of CMAA is to elevate the profession of Construction Management. Keenly aware of our Owner’s needs, CMAA is in close communication with our clients, to understand what their needs are and how our organization can train our professionals to help solve those problems for them. You will see Owner specific events that help flesh out thematic challenges in our industry, and then we will develop solution driven presentations that will result in better outcomes for all of our stakeholders.
-
Impact - CMAA members have so much to contribute. Each spring we celebrate our scholars and our wonderful projects to acknowledge that impact. This year, we plan to give back to the community through a Habitat for Humanity Program. You will hear more about this in coming months.
-
Opportunities - If you offer CM Services, we want to make sure you are aware of the opportunities to do business among our member organizations and in the DMV as well. We will facilitate CIP events that support that initiative.
-
Networking - Networking is essential in our industry, personally and professionally. We want to offer directed and casual opportunities to talk to our colleagues, share best practices and celebrate our accomplishments.
Now that you’ve got 2020 V.I.S.I.O.N- plug into our amazing programs to see where you can contribute and learn!
