Welcome Letter from the 2019-2020 CMAA NCC President

Members!

I am so excited to be your President for the upcoming 2019- 2020 year for the National Capital Chapter of the Construction Managers Association of America! I have served in this organization for many years, as Owner’s Committee Chair, Awards Chair and as Vice President. I am a certified construction manager, (CCM), a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP). I am also a veteran, a mom and a wife. I have had the opportunity to serve in several of the roles that propel our industry- Owner, Owner’s Rep, General Contractor, Design Professional, and of course Construction Manager.

I have a passion for our work and I’m truly excited about our plans for the upcoming year. Our theme is CMAA has 2020 V.I.S.I.O.N. This V.I.S.I.O.N. is Visibility, Inclusion, Solutions, Impact, Opportunities and Networking. Our board will be meeting after the National Annual Conference to further develop this theme and set us up for success. We will be rolling out some new activities and refining our tried and true ones. We will be focused on all areas of our organization- geographically and service line type. We are working hard to develop programs that are relevant to our amazing membership- some 1200 strong this year. I will give you more information as this year goes on.

The main reason why I’m writing you today is to get your buy in and your help. These programs need your energy and ideas to make them real, and relevant. So your assignment is:

• Complete the questionnaire & tell us what you need out of our chapter,

• Come to the Organization happy hour details TBD,

• Sign up for one of our amazing committees, and

• Work with us to make sure the chapter has 2020 V.I.S.I.O.N.
