Awards Season! Our Awards Portal is officially open!

Our region is in the midst of an amazing construction period. Tower cranes are perennially in use around the DMV, from projects like Capitol Crossing, the Silver Line and DC Water’s New Headquarters’ Building. Whether you focused on program management or construction management, staff augmentation or CMAR, 2019 was certainly a banner year for our industry. With all of that great construction going on, it’s time to recognize the efforts of our community through our project of the year awards. There are several awards categories in which you can participate. We will recognize a total of eight projects of the year in the Building Construction and the Infrastructure categories at four different sizes by construction Project amount.

  • Less than $25M

  • Less than $50M

  • Less than $150M

  • Greater than $150M

We also wish to recognize construction management excellence through an award that will go to one small firm, one large firm. Finally, we honor the certified construction manager of the year who best exemplified our profession. This work does not have to be representative of a completed project. All CCMs whether you are working in staff augmentation environment, or dedicated to a specific project are encouraged to submit!

Our submission is electronic this year, and follows closely the format for submission to National, so, once you’ve submitted your project, you will be ready to submit for a National Award! And remember Sustaining Members are entitled to one free submission as a benefit! Become a Sustaining Member!

Registration is easy-- We’ve got some helpful tips here for you to use. So now you know how and what to submit, I’d like to give you three reasons to nominate your team, your project or your people for an achievement award.

STAND OUT! CMAANCC Achievement awards are coveted awards that you can share with your owner when a superlative project is the result of your hard work. The plaque hanging on your wall or the wall of the project owner is a vote of confidence in your ability to deliver a project. It can feature prominently in your marketing materials and proposals and will differentiate you from the pack.

  2. CELEBRATE! Your team is working hard. Pre-dawn inspections, weekend conference calls and 24/7 response to situations at the workplace. It’s hard to truly appreciate all of the work that goes into a successful project outcome, but submitting your project will go a long way towards acknowledging the hard work that you and your team put in.

  3. PROMOTE! Professional construction management is the key to successful project delivery. Our CMAA NCC Achievement Awards drive home the point that our involvement in projects results in great outcomes and is well worth it. When we acknowledge the best work in our field, we challenge our industry to work towards those high standards, we raise the bar for all construction management and shine a light on how and where it’s being done.
